A monochromatic vision of a storm-tossed sea, observed from the aerial vantage of an airplane, evokes the artist’s own migrations between Belarus and America during 2004-2007. The painting becomes a meditation on displacement and the turbulence of transition, the ocean below a metaphor for the psychic distances traversed.
