The Diptych is a depiction of an evil-looking creature that is a merging black dog and some long-tongued lizard. It rests on the ground near the bars of possibly a prison cell. This dog for Nicholaas Chiao is a symbol of war, and he created many such paintings in time before the beginning of the war in Ukraine.
